Conservative Republicans in America have used NPR’s firing of Juan Williams as a rallying cry to defund public media in the country. The ongoing battle has now put public media in an awkward spot – should organizations like NPR fight back, or attempt to remain as neutral as possible? PBS’s Mediashift recently posted a variety of reactions to this question, with some experts urging NPR to get aggressive and others cautioning against it.
