Like no other: Super PACs flood 2012 election October 22, 2011

The 2012 election is shaping up to be an election like no other, thanks to the huge amounts of money being funneled to campaigns by new Super PACs. At one point during the latest election cycle, Super PACs were forming at the rate of about one per day. The organizations, which are allowed to raise and spend unlimited sums of money to support certain candidates, are lining up behind both parties. Among Republicans, though, it has been clear that both Mitt Romney and Rick Perry have enjoyed the most support.
