New primary front-runner Newt Gingrich is hardly a safe bet for the Republican Party. Although his skeletons have been out of his closet for years, his past sins are as bad as they get. As his new star status is leading to more criticism, Gingrich is seeking to address rumors about his personal life with a new section on his website. Gingrich started by addressing 16 issues, including claims that he acted as a consultant for Freddie Mac, and that he left his first wife while she had cancer.

Gingrich has also been somewhat shocked by widespread rumors about his wife, including the belief that he bribed her in order to run for president, and that she nearly derailed his campaign by forcing him to go on a vacation cruise to Greece. He has been addressing those rumors through most of his public interviews.
