Will actress Kristen Stewart be ruined by cheating scandal?

It was revealed in July 2012 that actress Kristen Stewart had cheated on her Twilight co-star, and longtime boyfriend, Robert Pattinson. Stewart issued a public statement once she knew the news was public, stating, “I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.” The move was her own, but still pretty uncharacteristic for a couple that kept their relationship fairly private.

Many entertainment and PR analysts have been wondering how Stewart might be impacted by the scandal. What most have guessed so far is that Stewart’s affair with her director from Snow White and the Huntsman makes a sequel to that film impossible. Most obviously, it makes marketing the next and final film in the Twilight series difficult, especially if Pattinson and Stewart won’t appear together in public. However, some believe that Stewart will benefit in the long run by cutting ties with her youthful image and embracing a far more mature and grown-up – albeit controversial – reputation.
